Testimony about the March

. Albert is a union lawyer and health rights activist from Colombia. He shared his testimony while crossing the line of the Equator. He later asked to recite a poem while waiting in Tumbes for a bus to Lima.  He argues that health rights belong in the March because health injustice is a “slow genocide” and because “the situation in Colombia amounts to an undeclared war on those who cannot afford medical attention.”

Edison shared his testimonio about the World March nearby the Rumichaca Bridge at the Colombia-Ecuador border. A student from Papayón, Colombia, he was one of the Viajer@s por la Paz who accompanied the World March from Colombia to its end point in Punta de Vacas, Argentina. La Marcha y Yo. La Marcha Mundial x la Paz cambio mi visa, en todo sentido y ambitos, reflexione sobre la lucha no violenta que nos une que somos hermanos humanos personas que soniamos con un mundo mejor. Soy un activista social que utilizaba la protesta violenta, pero las confrontaciones son peores y no se llega a soluciones. En mi pais Colombia que vive un conflictosocial y armado por mas de 50 anios, la unica salida es la PAZ, el dialogo, la sensatez, el pacifismo. Ahora soy una persona pacifista, Humanista. "Paz, Fuerza y Alegria," que busca la hermandad y unidad planetaria, que es la mejor forma de generar el cambio, haciendo su transformacion personal para ayudar a la Humanidad. Al hacer estas reflexiones osbre los objectivos de la Marcha, Paz, El Humanismo, de una transformo mi vida personal, para bien, buenos amigos, superar el dolor y elsufrimeinto y mejoro los ambitos. Como humanista y pacifista, he apoyado de todos los procesos sociales, culturales, politicos que confluya la PAZ. (A una salida politica, social, cultural, dialogada camino hacia la PAZ y fin de los odios).
 La Marcha y el Mundo. La Marcha Mundial por la Paz hace un llamado a generar conciencia de que la unica forma de un mundo mejor es la Paz y la Noviolencia. La paz y el cambio climatico, en la actualidad en el mundo es lo que se esta hablando en todos los ambitos. La Marcha Mundial x la Paz y la No Violencia es una semilla que genera conciencia personal y humana. Andrei has taken part in the Humanist Movement as a photographer and journalist. Along with the Viajer@s por la Paz, he accompanied the World March from his city Bogota to its end point in Punta de Vacas, Argentina. He shared the following video testimonio before a Blessing Ceremony by the Amautas of Tiwanaku, Bolivia.  A few days earlier, he had shared a written testimonio  while waiting at the Colombian customs office to attend a WM rally for binational cooperation at Ecuador border (Transcription and English translation below):

La Marcha  y Yo: “Participo del Movimiento Humanista hace 19 años. En todo este tiempo he hecho parte de diversos proyectos de humanismo, paz, y no violencia.También he participado como fotógrafo y reportero de distintas marchas y proyectos sociales.”
La Marcha y el Mundo: “Pienso que la marcha es la oportunida para darse cuenta de que la mayoría de la gente quiere vivir en paz. Para hacer redes y conocer personas y organizaciones, que trabajan por la paz mundial y entendimiento entre los pueblos.”
La Marcha y el Futuro: “La marcha se proyecta como la posibilidad de establecer relaciones entre personas e instituciones y conformar una fuerza suficiente para presionar a los gobiernos, instituciones y personajes para transformar la historia.”

The March and I: "I have participated in the Humanist movement for 19 years. I all this time I have been part of diverse projects of humanism, peace, and non violence. I have also participated as photographer and reporter of different marches and social projects. "
The March and the World: "I think that the march is the opportunity to realize that a majority among people want to live in peace. [The march is the opportunity] to make networks and meet people and organizations that work for world peace and understanding among peoples. "  
The March and the Future: “The march projects itself as the possibility to establish relationships among people and institutions, and to come together as a force sufficiently [strong] to pressure governments, institutions, and personalities to transform history.”

.   Terry is a public health specialist from the United States. She is a founding member of 9/11 Families for Peaceful Tomorrows. She shared her account at a café after having spoken at a World March ceremony of reconciliation at Ground Zero in New York:




Written Testimonio

The March and I. My brother, Don Greene, died in the sept 11, 2001 attacks. He was a passenger aboard United Flight 93. The organizations September 11th Families for a Peaceful Tomorrow (www.peaceful tomorrows.org) and the International Network for Peace (www.internationalnetworkforpeace.org) which we joined with other organizations from around the world whose members have lost loved ones to war, terror, organized crime, and nuclear weaponry, cosponsored the Dec 1st 2009 ceremony held today at the site of the World Trade Center.
The March and the World. The resiliency and strength of the marchers as well as dedication to the cause of nonviolence is an important model for all of us. They give us the hope that we will achieve the essential goal we commonly seek of a world which is sustainable and supportive of all the world's people.
The March and the Future. The March is bringing together people in communities across the world to stand united with, not against, one another. Its has had success in attracting media, reaching politicians, and educating young and old. It's future success depends upon how well it is able to create sustainable networks that can mobilize citizenry and promote/build the structures necessary to implement nonviolent means of conflict resolution.
Other Topics. While nonviolent approaches are difficult they do not require more resources or commitment than military approaches. The latter is far less effective and will not lead to sustainability. It is naive to believe that we can simply kill our "enemies" to make a better world. Supporting humanity is the true path to our mutual benefit and survival through co-existence.

 "We stand at a site where loved ones suffered and died at the hands of other human beings. It is a site where destruction reigned, demonstrating humanity's capacity to harm their fellow men and women. We stand at a site where, through the smoke and flames, individuals valiantly struggled. Many braved the flames to help others, either staying behind or entering the towers in rescue operations. Some helping others did not make it out themselves. From all over New York, this country, and the world, support poured in. It is a site where tenacity and bravery and compassion reigned, demonstrating the best of humanity's capacity to serve their fellow men and women. This is a site for humanity to make its choice. Today, September 11th Families for Peaceful Tomorrows and the International Network for Peace are joined by marchers and supporters of all faiths and backgrounds, from all around the world. Many are prominent world leaders while others are simply individuals who care about our common future. We have made the choice to dedicate ourselves to the service of our fellow men, women and children. We invite you to join us. Together we stand united, not against but for one another."
