Magaly is a member of the humanist movement in Santiago de Chile who traveled as part of the World March Base Team. In that capacity, she shared her experiences of the journey at the concert at the Parque por la Paz Villa Grimaldi (English translation below):

!Hola! Bueno acá mucho me conocen porque yo soy de acá. [aplausos]. Mi pasada fue por Latinoamérica, por nuestros pueblos hermanos y debo decir que por todos los lados por donde pasé… Me iba a México y decía “me quiero quedar acá, porque era tan fuerte el cariño y eran tantas las emociones se iban juntando, que mi corazón se iba quedando en todos los lugares donde íbamos pasando. Los ojos de los niños, de las mujeres que no mirábamos y decíamos ‘juntos vamos a construir un mundo distinto, juntos vamos a construir un mundo de paz.’ Y llego acá y es también, este es mi lugar, aquí nací, y también siento la violencia que se ejerció, pero por algo en algún momento nosotros nos paramos y dijimos ‘vamos a construir una cosa distinta por que la vida es linda’ como decía Violeta Parra, hay muchas cosas que agradecer y yo agradezco enormemente haber participado de este equipo que ha sido maravilloso y de haber participado en la Marcha. Hello! Well, here many know me because i am form here [applause]. My journey was through Latin America, though our sibling towns, and I must say that everywhere I went I would say- I would go to Mexico and say "I want to stay here" because the affection was so strong and there were so many the emotions that went on accumulating, that my heart would stay in every place we would go through. The eyes of the children. Of the women. We would look at each other and say "together we are gong to build a different world, together we will build a world of peace." And I arrive here and this is also- this is my place, here I was born, and I also feel the violence that was exercised . But there is a reason why at some point we stood up and said "we are going to build something different because life is beautiful." Like Violeta Parra would say, there are many things to thank and I deeply thank having participated of this team that has been wonderful and having participated of the March. Thank you very much.
